You can port it to MySQL, several users have.

Hi

I am looking to buy a forum that I can then modify or tinker with myself but would love to have a MySql forum as my host charges me fortunes for Sql Server and personally now having used both I can't see the benefits of Sql Server for a web application for a small site! What happened to the plans for the MySql version? Is it something that would be coming out in the next few months or not until next year? Is it relatively straightforward to convert the code anyway with the wind in the right direction and some time on my hands?

Thanks

There is no approval system right now, but it can be added to the code very easily.

I need two features, and I have not been able to determine if your forum supports them.

1. All subscribers need to be approved before posting - i.e. for a private message board.

2. All posts must be approved before they are posted.

Tony;
We made it halfway into MySQL support then decided to shelve it. But since it's taking so long anyway I might re-visit it. But in any event, we do have plans for MySQL support.

Does anyone have a script to create a MySQL database for the forum or is that part of the new release? If it is not part of the new release, can I suggest that it should be.

Thanks.

Tony;
Indeed you did. There's just been so many additions I held it up for awhile. My apologies, but everyone who purchased the software or registered here: http://forum.itcn.com/register.aspx will be notified.

I thought I read something about a 2.3 release coming out in January 2005. I was wondering if this release was actually out, and how will those who have already purchased the forum be notified.

Thanks.
