OK, fair enough - performance indeed is an issue using XML. I think your idea of removing language items from code is very helpful; that will certainly speed up the process of making changes. Thanks!

I looked into this, and for performance reasons will probably not do this. Right now this is one of the most light-weight and quickest forums available, the memory footprint is extremely small and the processor overhead barely noticeable. To have to load an XML file for external text every time you hit a page in the forum would slow the application down noticably on a site with many visitors.

However, I may make it much easier to change the text on the page. There are a few instances, not many, where you have to re-compile the code to change the langauge on some messages. I will remove that. But for the most part all you have to do is edit the client-side HTML and it's all done.

Hi !

I agree with this request for language XML file where we could update the labels and buttons etc... When it's available i'm sure i'll buy your forum.
Keep me informed when this release is up ;)

Best regards

OK, that request is fair enough, I will look into that.

By language settings I mean all GUI text (labels, buttons, etc) that is visible to the user - so 'language settings' indeed is not the correct phrase, you are right about that :-(

Maybe I am just misunderstanding what you mean by "Langauge settings". What exactly would you like to see moved to another file?

OK, thanks. I have been translating the forum into Dutch, which has worked out well, but again: for future releases, is it possible to have all the language settings in one single XML-file for easy translation of all text in your forum?

That is not true; they are in the client side, which you can easily change. The forum has been easily translated to Italian, for one customer, but I'm not sure what other languages they have translated it to.

There just about everywhere in the code, which makes finding and replacing them a real pain in the neck...
